OPEN CALL TO ARTISTS – POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION

RAD 25th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING - Poster Design Competition
DEADLINE: FRIDAY, JULY 22nd 2011
The Calgary Underground Film Festival is so excited to bring the movie RAD back to where it began in Calgary and Cochrane, Alberta and we want to share that energy with you!
This summer (2011) marks the 25th anniversary of RAD, a BMX film shot in Calgary and Cochrane. If you are unfamiliar with this film, the internet can help you. Some links are provided at the bottom of this page. The Calgary Underground Film Festival is throwing a huge party for RAD's 25th anniversary and we need your help to design a promotional poster!

A jury of BMX, film and visual art professionals will select from the submissions for an exclusive poster art show and auction at the BMX Gallery in Calgary, Alberta. The show will be up for a minimum of two weeks, including the 3-day RAD celebrations from August 19th - 21st 2011.
Successful applicants' ORIGINAL WORK is to be auctioned off at the BMX gallery with the artist keeping all proceeds, while CUFF will print and distribute poster facsimiles for promotional use.
The RAD 25th anniversary celebrations promise to be HUGE, and any selected poster promises to be seen by hundreds of fans and industry professionals. Confirmed information that would go well in small amounts on your promotional poster includes:
  • RAD 25th anniversary
  • August 19-21, 2011
  • BMX
  • Calgary, Cochrane
  • HellTrack
  • VANS
Please submit a JPG or PDF of your poster image - any size (from handbill to full movie poster) - by e-mail submit@25rad.com by July 22, 2011. Winning entries will be notified on or before Tuesday July 26. Artists may choose to sell a single original poster as a silent auction, or multiple originals at a set price. Winning entrants are required to provide CUFF with the original poster(s) and a print-ready JPG or TIF by Friday, August 5. You may submit more than one poster design.
Please e-mail poster submissions to: submit@25rad.com

  1. Any chance you'd be willing to extend the submission date by a day or two?
